This was produced by Bedford Associates, later Modicon. When launched, this device revolutionized the industry. It changed the concept of automating industrial processes and machines.
These were powerful for their time. I first ran into these in Dampier in the late '70's when they were installed at Parker Point during an upgrade. They used 200 series I/O.
This was a quantum leap in technology. The origional model was produced about 1980, but was later replaced by the 584L. This model had extended addressing capabilities. Programming was by P190 programming panel and later with ProWorx and Modsoft.
This was the first iteration of a rack mount product line.
Small footprint full function PLC. Utilised a base and snap together adapters for processor and communications.
New top of the range PAC. May utilise M340 backplanes but has it's own ethernet backplane range.
Baby beasts. Small form factor, but with a decent processor and excellent communication options.
